To lessen the adhesive tack, gently press the sticky side of Up Ankle onto a fuzzy or soft material prior to use.
Apply the adhesive side of Up Ankle over the inside or outside of the ankle, depending on where the swelling is located. The cored out oval sits around the ankle bone while the space between the ‘U’ should sit over the long bone of the leg. For a bad sprain with swelling on both the medial and lateral sides of the ankle use one on each side!
Use a compression wrap or sleeve to gently compress. If using a compression wrap, start wrapping at the ball of the foot and work your way up covering all skin to just above the Up Ankle. Overlap layers about halfway and apply light tension on the wrap. The padding of Up Ankle will compress into the joints & pockets of the ankle and swelling becomes trapped along the long bone of the leg.
By reducing swelling in the joint, movement is less painful and you can get back to what you enjoy!
